We Desire to be a gospel-centered, spirit-empowered church

In Acts 1:6-8 we find the final commission of Jesus:

Then they gathered around him and asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?”

He said to them:  “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.  But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”  Jesus again says to the disciples in John 20:21-23 “Even so I am sending you”.  And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit”.

We at Living Hope believe that the commission is clear, to go make disciples of all nations and to be God’s witnesses to the lost and hurting people of this world.  We are all SENT and we are all EMPOWERED.  Sent to minister and bring the good news of the Gospel to our circle of influence whether it is local or international.  Concentrating our efforts to wherever God would lead us in that effort.

We are a church centered on the good news that the Gospel brings and the restorative power that is spoken to us through the scriptures.  John Piper puts it this way "to be gospel-centered is first to do everything you do in reliance on blood-bought grace and promises. To be gospel-centered is to do everything you do with a view of displaying the all-satisfying grace of God.  To be gospel-centered is to live so that you show the glory of God, treasuring above all things the One through whom grace comes"

With that, as Jesus promised, we receive help from Him! There is an empowerment of the Holy Spirit that is necessary in order to accomplish the mission that God has called us to.  It is clear to us that we can’t accomplish anything in our own power and strength but only with the power that we receive through the Holy Spirit .

We believe that the Holy Spirit empowers believers for Christian witness and service.  While all genuine believers are indwelt by the Holy Spirit at conversion, the New Testament indicates the importance of an ongoing, empowering work of the Spirit subsequent to conversion as well.    The Holy Spirit desires to empower each believer continually for Christian life and witness, and imparts his supernatural gifts for the edification of the body and for various works of ministry in the world.

When we look at the early church we see a people who were commissioned, sent and empowered. Therefore it is clear that the Great Commission was and is unachievable without the power of the Holy Spirit. In the same way so is living out a gospel centered life.

Our Discipleship Highway (Process)

Sunday Worship Gathering  - Traveling Lane (Longer, More Steady Discipleship Process) – A typical Sunday gathering starts with worship through song followed by a time of testimony in that we hear from one another how God is moving in your life.  Then the children are then dismissed to Kids Connection prior to a 30 minute message unpacking and applying Scripture.

Once a month we take Communion together and every Sunday there's an opportunity for you to be prayed for by a ministry team.

Living Hope Groups - Passing lane (Quicker, More Intense Discipleship Process) – These groups are the primary organizing structure for discipleship in the church. LH groups will empower us to produce a simple, reproducible, effective strategy for developing leaders, maturing/equipping believers, and engaging unbelievers simultaneously. All these groups, which will meet throughout the week, will operate under the DNA of LHC – Gather.Grow.Go.

Equip Gatherings - Express Lane (Extremely Intense Discipleship & Leadership Process) – These gatherings, occur every Wednesday at 7pm at the church facilities. The main focus of these gatherings is equipping the saints and mature discipleship development.
