LEADERSHIP

  • Erik & Laureen Horwedel

Lead Pastor & Children's ministry director

We have been with Living Hope Church since the first service in January of 2009 on a blizzardy snowy Sunday at the local Shelton Marriott. We have a family of 7, 3 daughters and two sons. We desire to serve the kingdom of God in and through Living Hope Church by living out Colossians 3 in putting on the new man, to know Jesus more than we could ever imagine and to love others by His revelation of the gospel - the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ. We both enjoy serving Living Hope Church - Erik as Lead Pastor and Laureen as the Children's Ministry Director. The first thing we fell in love with at Living Hope Church was, and is, the presence of the Lord through this body; that there are real men and women willing to be engaged for His kingdom’s purpose and expansion. Our hope for you is to be encouraged to come, participate and engage with what the Lord is doing in and through Living Hope Church.

    Leah Brasile-koenig

    worship leader

Hello!  I have been serving in the area of worship for many years, but felt called by the Lord to step into the role of worship leader at Living Hope in early 2022.  I love to help create an atmosphere where people are encouraged and free to enter into the presence of God and experience the beautiful restoration and refreshment that comes to the human soul through the offering of worship.  I was saved by Jesus at a young age and I have been amazed at what my faithful Lord has done in each season of my life.  The years have been rich with redemption, grace and growth, even (and especially) in the years of struggle and pain.  My prayer for you is that you will know the joy and power of the presence of God as you worship him “at all times (Psalm 34).”

I have been married to Jon since 2009, and we homeschool our two sons and two daughters. Aside from music, I enjoy hiking, gardening and reading.

In 2009, Pat and Gail helped launch Living Hope Church. As the lead elder and interim pastor from 2013 to 2015, Pat was focused on discipleship as well as helping with preaching and leading a home group.

Pat and his brother sold Java Express in 2015 and Pat ran the CT operation for the company that purchased them. When Lil and I were married in 1992, our prayer was that we would be salt and light in the world.  That God might use us to draw people unto Him.  The Lord led Lil and I to Living Hope as we sought an authentic body of believers who live life together.  Living Hope seeks to be that church where real people, live real lives in pursuit of that which God has for them.  As a Nurse, I seek to be God's hands and feet and Lil as a grade school principal, seeks to share God's immense love for all God's children (both big and small!)  The Lord has blessed us richly with two wonderful children. Our son Logan works as an Engineer at MPI in Seymour while pursuing his engineering degree.  Our daughter Monica, second only in age to her brother, pursues her passion for writing at Carson-Newman University seeking a degree in Creative Writing.

Please come and join us as we seek to serve his Kingdom as we gather, grow and go.
