LEADERSHIP

  • Erik & Laureen Horwedel

Lead Pastor & Children's ministry director

We have been with Living Hope Church since the first service in January of 2009 on a blizzardy snowy Sunday at the local Shelton Marriott. We have a family of 7, 3 daughters and two sons. We desire to serve the kingdom of God in and through Living Hope Church by living out Colossians 3 in putting on the new man, to know Jesus more than we could ever imagine and to love others by His revelation of the gospel - the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ. We both enjoy serving Living Hope Church - Erik as Lead Pastor and Laureen as the Children's Ministry Director. The first thing we fell in love with at Living Hope Church was, and is, the presence of the Lord through this body; that there are real men and women willing to be engaged for His kingdom’s purpose and expansion. Our hope for you is to be encouraged to come, participate and engage with what the Lord is doing in and through Living Hope Church.

  • Ray Bieber

    Elder

Ray and Shari have been coming to LHC for many years.  Ray brings a great amount of wisdom and insight to our elder team.  He truly has an incredible gift in ministering and reaching those far from Jesus.  Ray is also a licence pastor under the leadership of LHC.  Throughout their ministry they have seen many come and give their life to Jesus!  They have also been involved in foster care.  They are a true blessing to the communities here in CT.

  • Jerry Cobaugh

    Elder

We moved to Shelton in 1986 and found a home here where we raised our two kids who now live in Austin, Texas and Port Angeles, Washington.  We have been part of a community group here at LHC since we started attending and find that to be a true blessing.  Things that we find excitement in are:  traveling, hiking, sitting on the beach, watching sunsets and reading.  The things we are passionate about are seeing lives restored through the power of Jesus and for the advancement of God's kingdom here in Shelton and beyond.  We love the body of Christ here and pray that the Holy Spirit moves mightily amongt his people.  Jerry loves to run so it's not surprising that his favorite scripture is 2 Timothy 4:7-8.  One scripture that Tammy finds great encouragement from is Ephesians 3:20, "Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think."

When Lil and I were married in 1992, our prayer was that we would be salt and light in the world. That God might use us to draw people unto Him. The Lord led Lil and I to Living Hope as we sought an authentic body of believers who live life together. Living Hope seeks to be that church where real people, live real lives in pursuit of that which God has for them. As a Nurse, I seek to be God's hands and feet and Lil as a kindergarten teacher, seeks to share God's immense love for all God's children (both big and small!) The Lord has blessed us richly with two wonderful children. Our son Logan works as an Engineer at MPI in Seymour while pursuing his engineering degree. Our daughter Monica, second only in age to her brother, pursues her passion for writing at Carson-Newman University seeking a degree in Creative Writing.

Please come and join us as we seek to serve his Kingdom as we gather, grow and go.

I am humbled and honored to  have the opportunity to serve the Lord at Living Hope Church and in my every day world . It absolutely is an exciting ride."
